On May 7, 2021, city leaders Cui Jianjun and Li Kejian led a team to China Cuisine Association and China Hospitality Association to seek advice on the UCCN City of Gastronomy application. The team then went to the Office of the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations Development System in China, where they presented Mr. Siddharth Chatterjee, UN Resident Coordinator in China, on the application to get support and more publicity resources. Mr. Chatterjee was in favor of the city’s efforts.
