潮州是国家历史文化名城,拥有“中国食品名城”“中国潮州菜之乡”“潮州菜地标美食城市”等美食城市名片。潮州菜始于汉唐,形成于宋,兴于明,盛于清,近现代更是驰名海内外。此外,潮州菜烹饪技艺还是国家级非遗代表性项目,其以烹饪海鲜、佐料讲究、食不厌精、清淡素雅见长。潮州美食品种繁多、自成体系,有500多道潮州菜、300多种潮州小吃、近100种酱碟调料,具有天然、健康、精致、共享的特点。
Chaozhou, a national historical and cultural city in China, is famous for its local delicacies and culinary creations. It is recognized as a Famous City of Food in China, the Birthplace of Chaozhou Cuisine and a City of Geographically Indicated Food. The origins of Chaozhou cuisine can be traced back to the Han and Tang dynasties. It developed further during the Song and Ming dynasties, flourished in the Qing dynasty and gained international fame in modern times. Notably, Chaozhou culinary skills are recognized as a national-level intangible cultural heritage. Chaozhou cuisine, characterized by seafood preparations, carefully selected condiments, skillful cooking methods and mild flavors, offers an extensive array of over 500 dishes, 300 snacks and nearly 100 dipping sauces. All are made from natural, fresh ingredients to promote a healthy and visually appealing dining experience meant for sharing.
2023年10月31日,联合国教科文组织公布新一批加入联合国教科文组织创意城市网络的城市,潮州成功入选“世界美食之都”,成为继成都、顺德、澳门、扬州、淮安之后,中国第六个跻身“世界美食之都”行列的城市。我市积极加强与其他“世界美食之都”城市开展文化交流活动,以“食”为媒,实现资源互补、美食文化互鉴。
On October 31, 2023, Chaozhou was named a Creative City of Gastronomy by UNESCO in its Creative Cities Network. Following Chengdu, Shunde, Macao, Yangzhou and Huai’an, Chaozhou is the sixth Chinese city to receive this honor. Since the designation, we have actively engaged with other designated cities to collaborate on food initiatives, sharing resources and appreciating each other’s gastronomic cultures.
为加强潮州与中国其他“世界美食之都”城市间的文化交流,深化潮州“世界美食之都”名片动能转化,推动美食产业与城市文化、经济发展的高度融合,扩大潮州的知名度和美誉度,潮州市将于2024年10月30日-11月1日举办2024年世界美食之都(潮州)城市交流活动。
To promote exchanges among UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy in China, enhance Chaozhou’s profile as a Creative City of Gastronomy, integrate the culinary industry with local culture and economic development and showcase Chaozhou through gastronomy, the City Exchange Event of the UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy (Chaozhou) 2024 will be held from October 30 to November 1, 2024.

三、活动内容
Ⅲ. Event Content
活动分为“炫技在潮州”“集智在潮州”“传承在潮州”“保护在潮州”四大板块。届时将组织潮州厨师与成都、顺德、澳门、扬州、淮安的厨师代表进行烹饪技艺交流和演示。组织非遗集市,邀请潮州工夫茶、手拉朱泥壶非遗传承人进行技艺表演。举办美食交流分享会,开展美食产业交流,探讨“世界美食之都”美食产业的发展趋势,分享经验。
The Event will comprise four sections, namely Cooking Skills in Chaozhou, Collaborative Intelligence in Chaozhou, Heritage in Chaozhou, and Protection in Chaozhou. During the Event, chefs from Chaozhou, Chengdu, Shunde, Macao, Yangzhou and Huai’an will participate in culinary exchanges and cooking demonstrations. Also, a fair will demonstrate Chaozhou’s intangible cultural heritage, featuring performances by masters of Chaozhou kung fu tea and handcrafted red clay teapots. In addition, an exchange and sharing session will be held for representatives from Creative Cities of Gastronomy to explore trends in the culinary industry and share their valuable experiences.
