Chaozhou Municipal Opera Troupe visited the Lion City from June 7^th to 14^th, 2017, as it had accepted a kind invitation to perform in a Singapore-China cultural exchanges event by the host - Teo Ann Huay Kuan (Singapore). It was the fifth time that the Troupe had performed in Singapore since the first invitation in 1990. The Troupe aimed to promote fine Chinese culture through cultural exchanges and consolidate the connections with overseas natives. Thus, it carefully selected six costume dramas of various types and styles for the audience, i.e., Lotus Lantern, a myth featuring choral and acrobatic skills, three original and newly-edited award winners in regional arts festival - Romance in the Cao Troop, Han Yu in Chaozhou, and Story of Yichun, the touching and tearful tragedy of Legend of Jinfeng and Yulong, and a fusion of excerpts, winner in a provincial youth opera competition.
