Rural Residents Progress in Cooking by Free Training

In March, 2019, organized by the city’s vocational school, professional cooks went to Dongming Village for free training. They showed and taught the villagers expertise in local cuisine cooking in person, effectively helping them to be adequate for higher incomes amid the course of rural vitalization.

According to the city’s unified plan for culinary training and the call for targeted poverty alleviation, organized and coordinated by the Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security and the officers working in Dongming Village, the school and the village have become cooperative partners. To be specific, rural residents would have a series of free cooking courses in their community taught by professionals regularly. In the first section of the training, the trainers introduced dishes featuring bamboo, a village’s specialty with a large amount, such as chicken, beef, or spicy-flavored rice and chicken or teal soup contained in bamboo tubes, boiled and fried bamboo shoots, and rolls and steamed fish head with the bamboo shoot as a basic ingredient. All this helped create a farmhouse savor characteristic of every village.
