Qiandong Town, Raoping County, strives to create an integrated and consumer-oriented industrial chain for salt-baked chicken. From poultry breeding and food processing to logistics and sales, everything is well managed to secure food traceability, forming a safe supply for nutritious and savory products. Over the past 20-plus years, the town’s signature industry has developed rapidly, resulting in a pattern involving several industrial clusters, i.e., poultry cultivating, fine processing, flavoring, printing and packaging, and distribution. Among the town’s 28 food companies, thirteen specialize in salt-baked chicken and make an annual output value of more than three billion yuan. Five of them are above designated size, accounting for 80% of the output value with a tax payment of 150 million yuan. It indicates that the town serves as a major domestic poultry product processing base. Wu Qiong, a China Well-known Trademark and a national leading agricultural company, is a top provincial food company in poultry processing with more than 300 sets of automated equipment and facilities. With more than 50 products in four series, namely salt-baked products, grilled products, baked eggs and sauced products, sold all over the country, the company has a dominant share in the domestic cooked meat market.
