Chaozhou Cuisine Inheritance and Development Research Institute was formally inaugurated at Chaozhou Higher Vocational School by the Chaozhou Municipal People’s Government in December, 2018. It is a significant step to implement the provincial Cantonese cuisine training program, particularly the scheme for local delicacies launched by the city authorities.
The research team comprises many masters of the local cuisine, including Wang Hongxin, Wu Qianqiang, Fang Shuguang, Zhang Laide, Liu Runzhao and Huang Lin. They have carried out training classes, promotion, exchanges, R&D, entrepreneurial and innovation-oriented competitions and other activities for a broader appreciation of Chaozhou flavor, aiming to make known its cultural essence and exquisite skills and promote it as a city signature with branding strategies.
